Well, I’ve been involved in financial services since I left school back in the early 1980’s. After a series of technical, training and sales roles I eventually decided I wanted to make a difference by setting up my own mortgage and insurance brokerage to solve my clients needs in the way they wanted. In my experience, larger companies are very much driven by the ‘bottom line’ regardless of how it sits with their customer.
In January 2009 I have re-launched my mortgage and insurance business as ‘Michael Knight Mortgages’ as it more closely reflects my personality. I am proud to be a sole trader in today’s market and do not want to ‘hide’ behind a bland corporate name.
My customers want a fair deal, explained in plain english by someone who will be around for years to come. My mission is to satisfy these requirements while bringing my own sense of humour to what can be a mundane experience.
In September 2009, I took on another adviser to work in the residential mortgage and insurance market. He is called Ross Robinson and he is new to financial services although he has vast experience in the property market having been an Estate Agent Branch Manager for a large independent chain in Northampton.
Ross has taken and passed his professional qualifications first time and is now advising clients.
This means that we can now offer a greater range of products and services and these now include:
- debt management
- commercial finance
- commercial insurances
All in all, a bright future awaits and we’re roaring into 2010 with great enthusiasm!
